NEPAL VOLUNTEER PROGRAMME

THE ORPHANAGE

The CWC orphanage is situated in Godawari, Kathmandu. It takes 45 minutes to get to the orphanage from the airport. The orphanage is run by women who have taken it upon themselves to make a difference to some of the world’s most underprivileged children. Their main aim is to help children regain their right to a childhood, education and love. 

Volunteers stay in the orphanage during the course of their stay.

PROGRAMME

Volunteers get involved in all aspects of the life in the orphanage. Tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Teaching the children basic English and Maths
• Teaching children how to wash their faces and brush their teeth
• Guiding children in their homework
• Serving  food and sitting beside the children whilst they eat
• Helping the children prepare to go to school by checking uniforms, shoes, neatness and cleanliness.
• Organising games for the children 
• Helping with the cooking of food and engaging in various related activities, as and when requested by project staff.
• Developing creative programs such as dance, arts, music, etc.
• Organising physical activities for the children
